Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Monday directed all the mobile phone operators to restrict daily recharge at TK 500 for a mobile phone subscriber.Regulatory body has taken this decision to restrict the daily recharge amount for a single mobile phone number in order to prevent illegal calls overseas, an official of the commission said.A subscriber can transfer at best Tk 300 from his balance in a day and Tk 1,000 in a month.Currently there is no bar on the daily recharge, though Tk 1,000 is the limit for every single recharge.Mobile phone operators say the directive will create inconvenience for their different existing services and also have an impact on the country’s digitization process.
