Three teachers jailed over cheating in SSC exam

Three teachers have been sent to jail as they were convicted of helping SSC examinees to answer multiple choice questions (MCQ) at Sarada Sundari Girls High School exam centre in Faridpur on Thursday.Other seven teachers and a total of 71 students have been expelled in this connection.The teachers, who were sent to jail, are Jasim Uddin, Md Faizur Rahman and Md Abdur Rashid Khan.An examinee at the exam centre and student of Salman Farsi (R) Dakhil Madrasah Jubaer Ahmed said, “After written exam of Physical Education, Jasim sir provided us the answers of multiple choice questions (MCQ). The answer was for ‘Ka’ set. He asked all the students even who got ‘Kha’, ‘Ga’ and ‘Gha’ set questions to answer as per ‘Ka’ set.”“A magistrate asked why all of us answered the same and said if we tell the truth, we wouldn’t have any problem, only teachers would be punished,” said Mahmudu Islam, one of the examinees.“We told the truth, but the magistrate expelled us,” he added.Deputy Commissioner of the district Umme Salma Tanzia said all the examinees of several rooms at the exam centre adopted unfair means. The teachers were found guilty. That’s why action has been taken against them.
