The government has decided to observe the Jatka Preservation Week-2017 from March 11 to 17 for creating mass awareness on preserving Jatka (Hilsha fry) to boost the production of the national fish.The decision was come today following a meeting of National Taskforce Committee on Hilsha Preservation held at conference room of Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock in the city. Marking the week, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Md Saiyedul Haque will address a press conference at ‘Matsya Bhabon’ here on March 11. The weeklong awareness programmes also include workshop on protecting Hilsha, installing camp of RAB at Tetulia, conducting mobile court and holding rally.Presided over by the Fisheries and Livestock Minister, the representatives of Water Resource and Information ministries, Prime Minister Office, RAB Police, BGB and others fishers association attended the meeting among others.
