The Dhaka University authorities have sacked two teachers for long term absence and demoted another for plagiarism.The authorities made the decisions at a syndicate meeting.Prof ASM Maksud Kamal, a syndicate member, confirmed the matter to journalists.Assistant Professor Dr Golam Azam of philosophy department and Hira Lal Pal, a lecturer of Leather Engineering and Technology Institute, have been sacked for prolonged absence from office.Associate Professor Md Abu Sayem of World Religion and Culture department, has been demoted to the position of assistant professor after found him guilty of copied a research paper.
