Perpetrators of the incidents identified: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the incidents of bomb explosions at Hussaini Dalan, murder of police personnel at Ashulia and Gabtoli and killing of foreign nationals in Rangpur and Gulshan are interwoven. The perpetrators of the incidents have been identified.The minister was addressing as chief guest at the annual general meeting of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) at Dhaka Reporter’s Unity (DRU) auditorium on Saturday.Kamal said members of intelligence agencies are very active to keep law and order under control.‘Because of their active roles, some militants were detained and a huge quantity of explosives was seized from their possession from Mirpur area when they were preparing to carry out subversive activities,’ he added.Referring to the incident of bomb attack on Rajshahi Ahmadiyya mosque, the minister said the explosion took place when some miscreants were entering the mosque with bombs. However, he said, investigation is going on to ascertain whether it was a suicide attack.The minister said it was that area where militants like Bangla Bhai launched massive subversive activities.Kamal said local and foreign conspirators are out to create instability in the country and to halt its development activities. He urged the journalists to cooperate with the law enforcers by providing information of any possible militant activity. About the death of Dhaka Medical College Hospital correspondent Awrongojeb Sajib, Kamal said the case is under investigation and everything will be known after its completion.He said the investigation is going on into the death of Abdullah Al Faruq who was crushed under the wheels of a truck. Kamal said the government is cautious to see that nobody is harassed through the misuse of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.Chaired by CRAB President Isaraf Hossain Isa, the meeting was addressed, among others, by former presidents of the association Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Chief Reporter Madhusudan Mondal, Parvez Khan and Aktaruzzaman Lablu.
