Mashrafe improves in ODI ranking

Bangladesh limited overs captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has made improvement in the ICC Players Rankings for ODI Bowlers. ICC published the last update of the rankings on Friday.Mashrafee has gained one place to reach the 13th position with 614 points while Bangladeshi all rounder Shakib Al Hasan maintained his sixth position with 643 points.Among Bangladeshi bowlers Mustafizur Rahman and Arafat Sunny hold on 29th and 55th position respectively.New Zealand bowler Trent Boult maintained his top spot, but is being fast approached by Mitchell Starc, who gained two places to reach the second spot.Test captain Mushfiqur Rahman, on 19th position with 642 points, is the only Bangladeshi player in the top-20 of ODI batting ranking.Pakistan is in danger of failing to qualify directly for the ICC’s pinnacle 50-over tournament in the United Kingdom as it is sitting in eighth position on 89 points – two behind Bangladesh and two ahead of the West Indies.Host England and the seven highest-ranked sides on theMRF Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings as on 30 September 2017 will qualify directly for the event proper to be held from 30 May to 15 July 2019.
