Motorcycle plying was banned from midnight of December 27 to 6am of December 31 for municipal polls.Apart from all types of vehicle plying will be restricted from midnight of December 29 to midnight of December 30 and vessel plying will also be banned during this time.Election Commission issued the directives signed by its assistant secretary Rajib Ahsan in the regard and sent them to the road and highways department secretary and shipping ministry secretary.Moreover, ambulance, fire service, power, gas, post and telecommunications and other important sectors will also remain out of the restriction.Municipal polls to be held on December 30 in 234 municipalities across the country. Some 923 candidates are vying for mayor posts and 1122 for councilor posts.
