Former home minister Altaf Hossain Chowdhury along with his wife and several journalists were allegedly attacked by the supporters of the ruling party candidate Bipul Haldar in Patuakhali.The incident occurred at Koalapara upazila attack at 10.30 am on Tuesday.According to witnesses, convoy of the Altaf Hossain Chowdhury was reached at Patuakhali from Dhaka to campaign for the party nominated mayoral candidate Hazi Humayun Shikdar.Supporters of Awami League candidate Bipul Haldar swooped on his convoy while he entered Rahmatpur ward no. 3 after campaigning at Nachnapara of the upazila.The attackers threw brick bat at the convoy that left Altaf Hossain, his wife, several journalists, BNP activists among others injured, witnesses added.In this connection Altaf Hossain was not reached over phone call.
