Myanmar has agreed to hold a dialogue on making action plans to repatriate registered, unregistered and recently arrived Rohingya Muslims who fled to Bangladesh.Foreign Minister of Bangladesh AH Mahmood Ali told journalists at a press conference at his foreign ministry office in Dhaka on Thursday.Myanmar State minister for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Tin came to Dhaka on Tuesday as a special envoy of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi.The foreign ministry organised the briefing following Wednesday’s meetings of the envoys with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the foreign minister.Mahmood Ali proposed an action plans to send back Rahingyas and to ensure their security, employment and peace.The Myanmar envoy accepted the proposal, but stressed the importance of verifying that those being sent back were in fact Myanmar nationals, he said.U Kyaw Tin also expressed an interest in starting an initial selection process for repatriation within the next two months.State minister for foreign affairs Shahriar Alom and the secretary of the ministry Shahidul Haq, among others, were present at the press briefing.
