Unidentified miscreants shot dead Awami League (AL) leader at Sharishabari in Jamalpur on Friday evening.The victim was identified as Abdul Hamid, president of Ward no. 1 Awami League Unit of Doail Union Parishad of Sharishabari upazila.Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sharishabari Police Station Billal Uddin confirmed the incident. One Mozaffor Hossain Moza also sustained bullet injury in his leg in the shootings, he said.According to Police, Hamid was taking tea at a shop at Kuthirhat area around 7:30 pm while motorcycle-borne assailants shot him in the head, leaving dead on the spot, and fled the scene.
