An accused in a case filed over murder was killed in an alleged gunfight with detective police at TNT colony area in Gazipur around 2.30am on Monday.The deceased was identified as Budu Monir, 28, Siraj Uddin, hailed from Noakhali.At that time, Amir Hosen, officer-in-charge of DB police and Md. Sakline, Assistant Sub Inspector were injured.Police detained an associate of Monir named Anwar Hussain, 28, from the spot. A pistol and four round bullets have been recovered.In this connection, Amir Hosen, officer-in-charge of Gazipur DB police told Jagonews24.com that, Monir along with four to five associates were taking preparation to commit sabotage activities in the area. Hearing the news, a team of police rushed to the spot. Sensing the presence of police, they opened fire on them that forcing them to retaliate to triggering a gunfight, he said. “At that time, Monir received bullet injuries and was sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Medical College and Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.”Monir was wanted in 15 to 16 cases filed with Joydebpur Police Station including murder, the OC added.
