DSE, CSE open positive

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) opened positive on Thursday, the third trading session of the week with marginal volatility.DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 5.60 points or 0.12 per cent to reach at 4,519.57, after first 30 minutes of the trade, when the report was filed at 11am. The two other indices also saw positive trend. The DS30 index, comprising blue chips, advanced 2.25 points or 0.13 per cent to stands at 1,719.34. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) gained 1.32 points or 0.12 per cent to stand at 1,092.04.Turnover on the DSE stands at Tk 240 million when the report was filed at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 91 advanced, 45 declined and 39 issues remained unchanged. Quasem Drycells was the most traded stocks till then with shares worth Tk 38 million changing hands followed by Beximco Pharma, Saif Powertec, Regent textile and Mithun Knitting.The port city bourse –CSE also saw positive trend in early hour of trading with its Selective Category Index -- CSCX – advancing 7.34 points to stand at 8,413.99, also at 11am. Of the issues traded till then, 33 gained, 20 declined and 8 issues remained unchanged with a turnover value of Tk 21 million. -FE
