One construction worker died and 14 others were injured as a portion of the roof of Hotel Ruposhi Bangla in the city collapsed in the early hours of Wednesday.Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Model Police Station Masiure Rahman confirmed the news saying, "The incident occurred at around 12:45 am while the renovation work was undergoing in one part of the building."Hospital sources said, the deceased was identified as Altaf Hossain (40) and the injured included Jakirul, 26, Alam, 32, Shafin, 19, Prodip, 20, Sayem, 35, Abdullah, 30, Fazlu Mia, 32, Ripon, 32, Moznu, 32 and Moktar Hossain, 38.The injured were undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). Condition of three of the injured is stated to be critical, added the hospital source.The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
