Three students of Political Science Department of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Abdur Razzaq Memorial Scholarship” for their outstanding academic results.The recipients of scholarships were- Robel Molla, Md. Ataur Rahman and Fariha Tabassum.DU Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as the chief guest at a function at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban of the university.DU Treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin presided over the function while DU former vice-chancellor Prof A K Azad Chowdhury delivered `Abdur Razzaq Memorial Lecture`.Nahim Razzaq MP, son of late Abdur Razzaq delivered welcome address and Chairman of DU Political Science Department Prof Hasanuzzaman Choudhury gave vote of thanks.Paying glowing tributes to the memory of late Abdur Razzaq, Prof Arefin said late Awami League leader Abdur Razzaq was one of the organizers of the Liberation War.“Abdur Razzak had dedicated his political life to common people`s independence, peace and social freedom,” the VC said.He urged the students to equip themselves with patriotism, honesty and moral values by following the ideals of late Abdur Razzaq.Abdur Razzaq was born on August 1, 1942 and died on December 23, 2011.Source: BSS
