The National Textbook Festival is being celebrated at all primary and secondary level educational institutions on Sunday across the country.Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the central programme of the ‘National Textbook Festival-2017’ at Azimpur Government Girls School and College in the capital at 9.30 am.More than four crore students of primary and secondary schools throughout the country got new textbooks on the first day of 2017 as customary to every year.The government distributed over 36 crore copies of textbooks free of cost.Almost 100 percent of 17.68 crore textbooks were distributed for secondary students and 95 percent of 10.52 crore textbooks for primary students in all upazilas of the country.
