Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Monday said that the gazette notification on the new pay scale for public servants would be published this week."The gazette notification on the new pay scale would be published this week, and all the government officials would get their salary for December under the new pay scale in January," the finance minister told journalists at his official residence in the capital city.Muhith was briefing newsmen after a meeting with the visiting World Bank Chief Economist Professor Kaushik Basu. The issue of the pay scale came in as some reporters wanted to know about the progress in the implementation process of the new pay structure.About the payment of the due salary and other benefits, the minister said the payment would start in January.The government on November 11 this year announced the new pay scale for civil servants, armed forces and judicial services with retrospective effect from July 2015.
