Non-govt primary schools running with hired students in Hatiya

Most of the non-government primary schools in Hatiya of Noakhali district have been running with hired students for a long.The students are passing their annual examinations in different institutions in the same time. In some parts of Hatiya upazila, there are many examples that students have passed their examinations not attending in examinations centres.To nationalize the non-government primary schools, Hatiya Upazila Education Office have been continuing the irregularities for a long. For that purpose, the concerned officials are also taking bribes from the authorities of the schools.  

According to the source, Uttar-Poschim Gabtoli Non-government Primary School started its academic journey in 2011. Like previous year, nine students have passed their annual examinations in 2015.Those students were also showed passed in Uttar-Poschim Gabtoli Ami School. But there is no school in this name. The school authority just changed students roll number keeping their name and guardian’s name unchanged.The correspondent of Jagonews24.com has collected the student’s name, address and roll number registered by Hatiya Upazila Education Office.

After completing investigation, Jagonews24.com find out that, four teachers are named in the school report which is prepared to submit for nationalization. Though, they all are serving in NGO and Non-government Company.However the students are also astonished after getting two certificates of same examinations from two schools.The students alleged that, they sat for examinations from Uttar-Poschim Gabtoli Primary School in 2015 but they also received certificate from another school. There are no structures of that school in the area. The school is also suggested for nationalization. Hatiya Upazila Education Office has allegedly taken bribe in recruitment of four teachers to the school. It is learnt that, Bhoboronjon Das, Assistant Education Officer in Hatiya is involved with this irregularities.When contacted he said that, at least eight thousand students sit for annual examinations in every year. It is impossible to detect them personally. We would form an enquiry committee and take stern action in this regard.Mosharraf Hosen, Upazila Education Officer told Jagonews24.com that, the examinations are runway in the schools. We would take action in this matter in January, he added.Anwar Hosen Seddiki, District Primary Education Officer in Noakhali told Jagonews24.com that, I have received huge complaint against Hatiya Upazila Education Officer and also ordered to investigate the irregularities against one Education Officer.
