Stock opened week down on Sunday amid lackluster trade when all the market indicators finished lower. With the Sunday`s fall, the market extended the falling trend to the 5th consecutive session that began on Monday last.Majority of the issues traded incurred loss due to profit-booking selling. The price fall drove the broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) 40.68 points down at 4542.73. The blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also fell to 1726.25 and 1096.22 accordingly.The daily transactions decreased significantly to Taka 274 crore for 7.08 crore shares from Thursday`s Taka 374 crore for 9.25 crore shares.The day`s major gaining issues were FBFIF, Exim 1st MF, Quasem Drycell, Aramit and Hwa Textile. The major lagging securities included BIFC, Navana CNG, Renwick, AIBL 1st Islami MF and Global Insurance.Squire Pharma topped the turnover list followed by Beximco Pharma, Delta Life, Quasem Drycell and BSRM Steel.Like DSE, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also opened week lower on Sunday. The major CSCX index was 56.13 points down at 8448.91.The trade value dropped further on the day to Taka 18.43 crore from Thursday`s Taka 27 crore when the volume decreased to 59 lakh shares from previous day`s 91 lakh shares.Most of the issues traded closed lower on the day, with 174 issues declining, 45 finishing higher and 29 remaining static.
