Disaster Management and Relief Minister and Dhaka City Awami League General Secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya Bir Bikram called upon the party men to remain alert as no section could mislead the voters in the name of religion in the upcoming municipality polls."We should consider whether BNP is participating in the polls as part any conspiracy as they have been making irrelevant allegations to make the election questionable," he said while speaking at an extended meeting of Dhaka City Awami League as the chief guest at its central office at Bangabandhu Avenue here."The people of the country are eagerly waiting for casting their votes in favour of the boat, the symbol of the Liberation War and development. Each of the party activists should be remained alert as no evil force could make the elections questionable," he also said.Speaking as the special guest, Food Minister and Dhaka City AL Joint General Secretary Advocate Qamrul Islam said, "There is no substitute to forge unity to fight back militants and their patron BNP."The meeting was arranged to make successful the programs of the Martyred Intellectuals Day on December 14 and Victory Day on December 16 with Dhaka city AL`s Acting President MA Aziz presiding and Publicity and Publication Secretary Abdul Haque Sobuj conducting.Among others, Dhaka City AL Vice-Presidents Fayez Uddin Miah, and Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and joint general secretaries Hazi Mohammad Selim, MP, and Awlad Hossain and Organizing Secretary Shahe Alam Murad spoke on the occasion.
