Election Commission (EC) on Sunday will assign one executive magistrate in each of the municipalities.According to EC, after allocation of electoral symbols, the aspirants will start their campaigns on December 14. The magistrates will take immediate action for any violation of the electoral code of conduct.970 executive magistrates and 234 judicial magistrates will be in the field during the elections to 234 municipalities on December 30.A total of 61,143 officials will be deployed for the election duties.An individual can face six months to seven years of jail term for violating the electoral laws and up to six months’ imprisonment for flouting the code of conduct.In this connection Secretary of Election Commission Md Sirajul Islam told Jagonews24.com that, there will be one executive magistrate in every municipality from December 13.
