Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, MP, appealed on Saturday to keep 1971 in the heart and march towards victory by creating a poverty-free, egalitarian and non-communal Bangladesh.The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the launching ceremony of a disc of music video songs on the theme "Songs of Victory."Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Junayed Ahmed Polok and president of Jatiya Press Club Mohammad, Shafiqur Rahman, attended the function as special guests.The Information Minister also said "Those who uphold the spirit of the victory of the Liberation War, they alone can attain victory. The Grand Alliance government has attained victory over terror, communalism, militancy and poverty as it upholds the victorious spirit of the Liberation War."The minister said "I am excited to note that the young generation, who had not witnessed 1971, also realise the spirit of the Liberation War so profoundly that after 44 years of independence they have composed songs that recreate the different stages of the struggle for freedom in their songs.""After 1975 the military rulers had throttled the country`s culture. The Grand Alliance government has freed the country from that vice-like grip," he said.Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor said that some people were out to destroy the image of the nation and that is why they are killing bloggers, writers, publishers, religious leaders, muezzins and foreigners."Those who want to subvert the country`s march towards development are behind these killings."But they will fail," the minister added.State Minister for ICT Junayed Ahmed Polok said that Bappa and Bushra had created a bridge between the songs of freedom and victory. He suggested that the songs be distributed through You Tube, Facebook and other social medium.The songs written by Architect Bushra Shahriar were sung by Bappa Majumdar and the lyricist. The song album was launched in the 44th year of Victory.
