Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Saturday inaugurated the digital version of Madrasah textbooks of Class Six titled Inter-Active Digital Madrasah Textbooks (IMDT) with different facilities.Under the initiative of Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, digital versions of four textbooks of Class Six - Quran Majid, Akaid Fiqah, Arabic 1st and 2nd papers have been launched at a function at International Mother Language Institute (IMLI) auditorium in the city`s Segunbagicha area.The textbooks can be read in different electronic mediums like computer, tab or mobile-phone with online and offline facilities. The IDMT comprises word meanings, realistic examples, pictures and videos.Students can download the books or contents free of cost from the website of Madrasah Education Board.Addressing the launching ceremony, the minister said the government has been working tirelessly to modernize the madrasah education as the students can learn modern knowledge, efficiency and uses of technology.He said the government has already constructed 1,342 buildings and more 509 others are under construction for the betterment of madrasah education in the country. "Honours course have been introduced at 31 madrasahs while honours course will be introduced in more 21 madrasahs soon," he added.Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board Chairman Professor AKM Saif Ullah chaired the function while Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) Computer Science and Engineering Faculty Dean Professor M Kaykobad, Secondary and Higher Education Directorate Director General Dr SM Wahiduzzaman and Madrasah Education Directorate Director General Md Billal Hossain joined it, among others.Source: BSS
