Nine held for cheating in SAU admission test

The authorities of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) on Friday detained nine candidates for using electronic devices during the admission test for academic session 2016-17 of the university.The detainees were identified as Roy, Rokeya Khatun, Sadman Sharees, Hasibul Hasan, Shahmun Nakib, Tania Sulatan, Nuru Muhammad, Amir Hamza and Al Mamun.They were handed over to Rab-2.The detainees confessed that they contacted with the forgery rings to pay Tk. 2 lakh to Tk. 3.5 lakh. If they had got chance, they would have paid the money.Use of mobile phone and other communication devices are prohibited inside the exam halls. They tried to collect answers by using those. That’s why we detained nine examinees, said Dr. Md. Sekandar Ali, Pro vice-chancellor of the university.A total 30, 265 aspirants sat for the exam for admission to 540 seats under four faculties.
