Country’s private carrier NOVOAIR is set to fly its maiden flight to Kolkata tomorrow afternoon as part of its ongoing effort to expand wings to international arena.Talking to BSS, NOVOAIR Managing Director Mofizur Rahman this morning said they are ready to start operation to their second international destinations, as the carrier has eyed for more connectivity in the region.He said Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon would inaugurate the flight at a ceremony at the Hazrat Shahjala International Airport (HSIA).‘We’ve taken the latest move following the sustainable operation on all domestic routes of the country as well as the lone international destination,’ stated the NOVOAIR managing director.Initially, four flights from Dhaka will be operated from Thursday while three flights from Chittagong will be started from December 14, he added.‘Actually, we will connect the people with Kolkata in seven days of the week,’ said Mofizur Rahman.About their ongoing efforts for more international destinations, he said they have planned to launch Dhaka-Kathmandu and Dhaka-Guwahati flights soon.‘We are now exploring commercial viability on Dhaka-Kathmandu route following completion of necessary works while Dhaka-Guwahati routes would be started immediately after establishing the Bangladesh Consulate in Guwahati,’ revealed Mofizur Rahman.Head of Marketing and Sales Sohail Majid earlier said return promotional fare for Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka will start from Taka 9,999 (including all taxes) that will be operated on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.The flight departure from Dhaka will be at 2:25pm and will arrive at Kolkata at 3pm (Local Time) while departure time from Kolkata will be at 4pm (Local Time) and arrival in Dhaka at 5:35pm, he added.Sohail said return promotional fare for Chittagong-Kolkata-Chittagong will start from Taka 11,555 (including all tax) and three flights will be operated on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.NOVOAIR has been successfully operating flights on all domestic routes since January 2013 with six aircraft in its fleet.
