Rangpur manager faces dugout and dressing room ban

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) authorities have imposed a ban on Rangpur Riders manager Sanoar Hossain on charge of spot fixing.A player of the team, Jupiter Ghosh, accused Sanoar Hossain of the spot fixing charge. Jupitar was dropped from the team. After the match between Rajshahi Kings and Rangpur Riders, there was a rumor that Riders player Jupiter Ghosh had gotten an offer of Match-fixing. The player claimed that the team manager Sanoar had proposed him for spot fixing but he denied.Terming the claim as baseless Sanoar Hossain said, “Had I given him such proposal, he would have informed Anti-corruption and Security Unit (ACSU). Why didn’t he report earlier?” He said that Jupiter was dropped from the team on charge of breaching discipline. However, Rangpur Riders authority defended their manager Sanoar. In a statement, the management of the team said that Jupiter was dropped as he had discipline problems.“Now he is trying to dodge everyone by making false allegation,” the statement said. The management said that they would never compromise in terms of discipline as this is the key to success of a team.BPL governing body said that it would probe into the matter. “Whatever the allegation is, we have taken this into cognizance. We will probe into this matter,” the chairman of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) media committee and BPL technical committee Jalal Yunus said.“We will not allow any controversy. We want to keep BPL distance from any controversy,” he added. He said that the ban on Rangpur manager Sanoar to enter into dressing room and dugout will continue till the probe report. However, though there is a dugout and dressing room ban on Sanoar, he is allowed to come in the field with players and watch the match from stadium.
