BNP calls for support for Rohingyas

BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi urged the government to stand by Rohingya Muslims, who are fleeing from their motherland after being persecuted by Myanmar military force and Buddhists.

The BNP leader made the call at a programme at Naya Paltan central office on Saturday. The programme was organized on the occasion of joining some leaders of Jatiya Party of Muladi upazila under Barishal district to BNP.

Rizvi strongly condemned the persecution of Rohingyas and criticized Bangladesh government’s “inaction”

“Rohingyas tried to enter into Bangladesh, but they were pushed back,” he said.

Rizvi alleged that the government failed to take necessary steps for the Rohingyas.

“The government is too afraid of losing power and so they did not protest persecution properly,” he said.

He also urged the government to take initiative to start talks with Myanmar and international community so that Rohingyas can get back their houses.
