Sylhet college student Khadiza Begum Nargis who had sustained severe injuries from a machete attack by a Bangladesh Chhatro League leader has expressed her gratitude to all walks people who helped and prayed for her recovery. She also urged people to continue their support for her full recovery.
On Saturday, she spoke to the media for the first time after the attack which happened over one and a half month ago.
“Now I am well. I have been recovered as all of you prayed for me,” she said while speaking at briefing at the Square Hospital in Dhaka
Khadiza expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Square hospital authority and all.
“I am grateful to the Prime Minister, Square Hospital authority and the people. Please pray for my full recovery,” she said.
On October 3, Khadiza was attacked brutally at the Sylhet MC College campus by Badrul Alam, a fourth-year student at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) and also senior assistant secretary of the BCL unit in Sust.
She had received severe injuries to her brain, head, hands and legs in the attack.
Khadiza was brought to Dhaka`s Square Hospital the following day in critical condition, amidst a wave of protests. She underwent three surgeries and was put on life support until Oct 13.
