The High Court on Tuesday granted a three-month ad-interim bail to BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in three cases of arson and vandalism.A division bench of the HC comprising Justice Md. Rezaul Haque and Justice Md. Khasruzzaman passed the order.The state and defense held hearing on the cases on November 11. Mirza Fakhrul is now languishing in jail in the three cases.Earlier on November 2, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court ordered the BNP leader to surrender before a lower court upon hearing three separate petitions lodged by Fakhrul.The lower court sent Fakhrul to jail as he surrendered before it after rejecting his bail prayer.Fakhrul and some other party leaders and activists were accused of vandalising and torching vehicles in the capital on January 4, 5 and 6. The cases were lodged with Paltan Police Station.
