‘I want to play 10 more years’: Mohammad Ashraful

The international career of former Bangladeshi skipper Mohammad Ashraful has been disrupted by a ban but the once most popular Bangladeshi batsman has said that he wants to play 10 more years.To Ashraful, Pakistan’s test skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is an inspiration in this regard. Misbah who is now 42 still leads Pakistan cricket team.‘I want to play at least eight to 10 more years…Misbah still plays though he is now 42, why can’t I play at the age of 32,’ Ashraful, once the most popular Bangladeshi batsman said.Ashraful expressed the desire while he was speaking as a chief guest at a prize giving ceremony of a quiz contest during Bangladesh-England series organized by Jagonews.Ashraful said that Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is also a big inspiration for him.‘If Mashrafe still remains fit even after seven operations in his knee, why don’t I,’ he asked.The youngest player to score a Test hundred is now out of international cricket as he was banned after confessing his involvement in spot fixing in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).His ban in international cricket will be expired in August 2018 but he has resumed his domestic cricket career after three years. He has taken part in National Cricket League which is now postponed due to ongoing BPL.
