Goal 50 winner Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the history of football and also deserves to claim this year’s Ballon d’Or, his agent Jorge Mendes believes.The Portuguese forward bagged the Goal 50 award for a fourth time on Friday and is the favourite to win the France Football prize later in 2016 after winning continental crowns for club and country in 2016.‘Cristiano had a fantastic season,’ Mendes told Goal. ‘He won the Champions League with Real Madrid, scoring 16 goals, and the European Championship with Portugal. And it is such a small country that victory was unthinkable. It is worth three times more than other national teams winning it.‘That’s why the Goal 50 award is so deserved and I am thrilled that he is being recognised.
