Deposition in blogger Oyasiqur murder case deferred

Deposition against five Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) men in blogger Oyasiqur Rahman Babu murder case has been deferred, as the witnesses were not present in the court.Judge SM Ziaur Rahman of the Dhaka’s Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court on Tuesday deferred the deposition and fixed November 20 as the new date.On March 30, 2015, Oyasiqur was killed with machetes by three assailants on Dipika Mosque Lane of Begunbari, close to Tejgaon Textile Engineering University, when he was going to office at Motijheel.Later, police caught Zikrullah and Ariful by the help of mob during the incident while Abu Taher managed to escape himself.Zikrullah and Ariful confessed to police that they killed Babu because of writing on Facebook demeaning Islam.The victim’s brother in law Moni filed a murder case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four including Jikrullah, Ariful and many anonymous people.The Detective Branch of Police submitted charge sheet against the five accused on September 1.Judge SM Ziaur Rahman of the Dhaka’s Third Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court framed the charges on July 20.
