DMP to consider BNP’s rally at Paltan after getting application

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia said security concerns for BNP’s rally at Naya Paltan on November 8 will be considered after getting application from the party.In a reply, he said this to reporters after a certificate giving programme among new 20 SWAT members at Police Lines in Mirpur on Saturday.He said the police yet to get application on 8th November rally at Naya Paltan. We will take decision about security measures on the basis of application.Earlier, BNP was denied to get permission to hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on November 7 or 8.The rally will be held in front of Party’s central office at Naya Paltan on November 8, said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at the conference of Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal at the Engineers Institute auditorium.‘We wanted to hold a rally on a historical day at Suhrawardy Udyan, but you (police) didn’t give permission. So, give us permission in front of our party office,’ he added.
