Accused in Badda 4-murder case held

Detectives detained Uzzal, one of the accused, in connection with the case for killing four people in Middle Badda area of  Dhaka city in August last year.Abdul Baten, joint commissioner of Detective Branch of police, made the disclosure while briefing media at the DMP media and public relations conference room around 12:45pm.He said, tipped off a team of DB police conducted a raid in Badda area of Dhaka city and arrested the accused on Monday night.On August 13 around 9pm, a gang of miscreants opened fire on four people while they were gossiping near the Water Tank at Adarsha Nagar in Middle Badda, leaving them severely injured.The injured were- Mahbubur Rahman Gama, cultural affairs secretary of Dhaka (North) city unit of Swechchhasebak League, Shamsuzzaman Shamsu, AL ward-6 president of Maddhya Badda area, Manik, manager of a local hospital, and Abdus Salam, 45, senior vice-president of the Badda union unit of Jubo League.Of them, Shamsu, Manik and Gama were rushed to United Hospital at Gulshan where the former two succumbed to their injuries soon after their admission and Gama died the following day.Salam was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he died 3/4 days later.
