2 killed in Jhenaidah ‘gunfight’

Two people were killed in an alleged gunfight with police on Bypass road in Jhenaidah early Tuesday.At this time three police constables were also injured in this incident.According to police, some terrorists riding motorcycles were going to Vutigati village at 3.45am. At that time, a patrol team tried to stop them on the road. The challenged bike riders fired and hurled crude bombs towards police, prompting them to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.Two criminals received bullet injuries and others managed to flee away. Later the duo were rushed to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared them dead.Azbahar Ali Sheikh, Additional Superintendent of Jhenaidah police, said, two shutter guns, five bombs, two round bullets, two machets, a motocycle and two bags were recovered from the spot.
