An accused in 21 cases was killed in an alleged gunfight with police at Kanchona area of Satkania upazila in Chittagong early Sunday.The deceased is Abul Boshor, 40, a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami.Farid Uddin Khandaker, officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station, confirmed the matter to Jagonews24.com.He said, police arrested Abul from Banshkhali upazila. Later they went to recover arms along with him. Sensing the presence of police, Abul’s cohort’s opened fire on them forcing them to retaliate, triggering a ‘gunfight’. In reply police also shot on them and at one stage Abul was killed, he added.
