Mujhahid gets more time for hearing

The Appellate Division has accepted convicted war criminal Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid`s petition seeking time to begin the hearing on the appeal.

A four-member bench led by S.K Sinha, the newly appointed Chief Justice, passed the order on Wednesday morning. Joynul Abedin Tuhin, Advocate on Record, submitted the petition on Wednesday. He asked in the petition for more time as senior counsel Khandker Mahbub Hossain failed to be present at the court. The Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general filed the appeal on August 11, 2013, after the International Crimes Tribunal-2 had sentenced him to death on July 17 of that year.
