The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday stayed the procedure to hold by-poll in Tangail-4 constituency.Chamber Judge of the Appellate Division Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the order following a petition submitted by the Election Commission (EC), which pleaded for staying the High Court order that legalizes the nomination paper of Abdul Kader Siddiqui.The court sent the matter to the full bench of the Appellate Division for hearing on November 2. The court also stayed the election procedure till that day.Tangail-4 by-election is scheduled to be held on November 10.Attorney General Mahbubey Alam took part in the hearing for EC today, while AJ Mohammad Ali and Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury moved for Siddiqui.
