Confidence in comfort as kids go back to school

Going back to school after a carefree summer can be tough. There are so many emotional ups and downs at the start of school as kids learn some of life’s lessons about self-discovery, self-esteem, self-confidence and friendship. For parents, letting go again, after having young ones so close for so many weeks, can be hard, too. It’s difficult knowing we can’t be on hand to guide our children through every tricky step, make them feel secure or reassure them that everything will be okay, whatever happens. This year, Gap Kids wants to remind kids - and parents - that confidence in yourself is the most important back-to-school supply you need. That’s why Gap Kids is launching the ‘Letters to My Kids’ initiative, so parents can let their children know how much they care, and remind them just how capable they are. Simply write down some words of encouragement and admiration for your schoolchild, upload it to letterstomykids.gap.uk and Gap Kids will physically post out the first 500 letters received - so you can let your little ones know in written form just how much you care.To launch the project, Gap Kids has created a series of videos sharing parents’ letters to their kids. Perhaps your daughter needs to know that she will brighten the day of everyone she meets. Maybe your son has big dreams but small confidence, and needs to hear that you know he has far to go, and he can handle it.These boosts of confidence might make all the difference when they hesitate over raising a hand in class, or entering a chattering dinner hall full of unfamiliar faces. Your letter could be in their satchel as they steel themselves for a daunting test - remembering that you know they can do it.Cleverly designed and stylish clothing will make sure your tots look the part and help them feel self-assured, whatever challenge they’re tackling. Gap Kids prioritises comfort across its clothing ranges, making learning, exploring, asserting and initiating that much easier, meaning comfort isn’t just the clothes kids wear but how they feel about themselves.
