Bangladesh women thrash Nepal
Bangladesh Women Cricket Team has made the country proud as they hammered Nepal by 92 runs in the ongoing ACC Women’s T20 Asian Cup in Thailand on Tuesday.
The victory, which is a record in terms of runs, has lifted Bangladesh to the second position of the point table with four points from three matches while India leads the table with full six points.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Bangladesh set 134 runs target for Nepal losing four wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
Opener Sanjida Islam made 35 runs facing 40 balls hitting five fours. Nigar Sultana and Shaila Sharmin contributed 39 and 19 runs respectively.
Sangita Rai of Nepal sent two Bangladeshi batswomen back to the pavilion as Rubina Chhetry and Sita Rana Magar grabbed a wicket apiece.
Chasing the 134 runs target Nepal batswomen faces difficulties from Bangladeshi bowlers and they just could manage to get only 41 runs on the board losing all wickets in 17.3 overs.
Fahima Khatun sent four Nepal batswomen off the pavilion. Top-scorer for Nepal Sita Rana Magar made 15 runs.
